Why EquiPath exists
Removing barriers to independence, dignity, and well-being.
EquiPath Foundation promotes health and relieves poverty by providing people facing financial and access barriers with healthcare products and supports that help prevent and manage health conditions.
The organization focuses on practical help: donated mobility equipment, safe pickup and delivery, family intake, referral navigation, and connections to external programs when a need requires additional support.

Deliver Mobility Support
The foundation helps families access wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, canes, basic vision supports, and other approved supplies.
Navigate Referrals
Families may receive help completing applications or connecting with organizations offering related mobility and accessibility supports.

Amira Mohamed
Amira Mohamed founded EquiPath after witnessing firsthand the challenges her father faced in obtaining basic medical equipment such as a cane and other mobility aids.
What should have been a simple process became a difficult and frustrating journey, revealing the barriers many individuals and families face when trying to access essential medical supplies.
Motivated by her father's experience, Amira established the organization to help ensure that no one is left without the equipment they need to maintain mobility, independence, and dignity. Through her leadership, EquiPath continues connecting people with wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and other practical supports.
Community relationships help identify real needs.
EquiPath receives referrals and community insight from local organizations.
Referral Partners
Relationships with the YES Centre, Calgary African Community Collective, and Somali Canadian Society of Calgary help connect families to support.
Who Is Served
The foundation serves people with disabilities and mobility limitations, including people experiencing low income, newcomer barriers, or racialization.
Privacy and Care
Support is provided with respect for dignity, limited personal medical information, and clear follow-up with families or referring partners.
